At Vervaine, we believe design can speak to people. Delight. Inspire. Engage. Making that happen is our pride and joy. We start by finding the mood and visual story behind each client’s success. We build brands from scratch. But we know evolution is essential, too. So we’re makeover artists as well as brand strategists. Web-savvy, yes. Though we still love print. Let us know when you have something to say.
Vervaine is a small design studio dedicated to design that communicates. We’re interested in our clients’ stories. That’s where every project begins. And why good collaborations endure. We’ve learned you can get just about anything done as long as you’ve got a great team. Ours is. We’re strong on design, illustration, and writing, and have a network of top-notch developers.
Alison Parker founded Vervaine Design Studio in 2002. Before that, she was the Interactive Art Director at PJA Advertising and Marketing. Building a team of designers, animators, and programmers for the madmen of advertising honed her systematic approach to getting big projects done. After training in Studio Arts at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Alison decided she was too practical to become a painter. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the New England School of Art and Design.
Joe officially joined the Vervaine team in 2016 but is a long-time creative partner. As a writer and brand strategist, Joe reads between the lines to help clients evolve authentic stories that connect with target audiences. Joe cut his teeth in advertising, developing multichannel campaigns for Fortune 500 firms, entrepreneurial companies, and non-profit organizations. Before taglines invaded his dreams, he produced educational content for the PBS series Frontline.
Diana Sanders joined the Vervaine studio in 2006, bringing experience in designing and maintaining corporate websites at Myriad, Inc. Her projects are an outlet for her mathematical leanings: she likes structure and precision. She is a master of the visual display of complex information - a talented designer of infographics, diagrams, and corporate communications. Yet, unlike Alison, Diana does not wear flip-flops to work. She is addicted to fashion blogs. She has a B.S. in Studio Art and Art History from Skidmore College.
Before joining Vervaine as a designer, Claire was immersed in branding. She was an apprentice at Rodale, Inc., where she learned to bring brands to life beyond the pages of mere magazines. Claire comes at design with a photographer’s eye and love of abstraction. She has brought her good sense of color and form straight into the fray at Vervaine, where she helps us juggle a wide range of projects. Claire’s family has spent summers on Cape Cod for generations. That’s what drew her here after she graduated from Lehigh University. Cum laude, that is, with a B.A. in design, and honors in photography.
Our studio founder, Alison Parker, works on all of our projects, bringing together just the right mix of talent each of our clients need. We’re based in Chatham, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod, with clients here, in Boston, and across the country.
