Service, Style and Staying Power
The Puritan story is one of constant adaptation and reinvention, from making uniforms for servicemen in World War II to outfitting yacht-faring Kennedys in the 60s and tailoring tuxes and dresses for prom night today. Now in its third generation of family ownership, this independent family-run clothing store has not only withstood the test of time, but it is as relevant to customers today as it was 100 years ago.
Great service never goes out of style
When the owners approached Vervaine to help plan a centennial celebration, we seized the opportunity to reinvigorate Puritan’s visual branding and showcase the store’s value-added services that differentiate its offering and appeal to today’s savvy customer.
For the logo, we landed on two versions: one to mark the store’s centennial year, which incorporates a needle and thread—a nod to Puritan’s sartorial origins as a men’s shop that sold fine tailored suits. The umbrella logo is a classic uppercase serif that is elegantly upmarket yet approachable. Because if there’s one thing Puritan has proven, it’s that great service never goes out of style.
